Ingredients
  

  • 1 pound breakfast sausage regular or sage-flavored
  • 8 ounces cream cheese softened to room temperature
  • 16 ounces sour cream full-fat recommended
  • 8 ounces Velveeta cheese cut into small cubes
  • 1 cup shredded Monterey Jack cheese or sharp cheddar
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried sage optional
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 green onions thinly sliced for garnish

Method
 

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F and lightly grease a 9x9-inch baking dish.
  2. Cook breakfast sausage in a large skillet over medium heat, breaking into small crumbles. Drain excess grease and let cool for 5 minutes.
  3. In a large mixing bowl, combine softened cream cheese and sour cream until smooth and well blended.
  4. Stir in Worcestershire sauce, onion powder, garlic powder, sage, and black pepper until evenly distributed.
  5. Fold in cubed Velveeta, shredded cheese, and cooled sausage until everything is well incorporated.
  6. Transfer mixture to prepared baking dish, spreading into an even layer.
  7. Bake for 45-55 minutes until hot, bubbly, and golden brown on top.
  8. Remove from oven, let rest for 5 minutes, then garnish with sliced green onions. Serve warm with chips or crackers.

  • For best results, use full-fat dairy products for smoothest texture
