Ingredients

Ingredients
  • 2 tablespoons Butter, softened
  • 1/2 tablespoon Garlic Powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon Dried Parsley
  • 4 slices of sturdy bread (like sourdough or Texas toast)
  • 1 cup of shredded mozzarella and cheddar cheese blend

Equipment

  • Small bowl
  • fork
  • non-stick skillet or griddle
  • Spatula

Method

Instructions
  1. In a small bowl, combine the softened butter, garlic powder, and dried parsley. Mix it with a fork until it’s a smooth, consistent paste.
  2. Spread the garlic butter mixture evenly on one side of each of the four slices of bread, going all the way to the edges.
  3. Place two slices of bread butter-side down on your work surface. Pile the shredded cheese blend on top, dividing it evenly between the two slices.
  4. Place the remaining two slices of bread on top, with the buttered side facing up.
  5. Heat a non-stick skillet or griddle over low to medium-low heat. Place the sandwiches in the pan and cook for 4–5 minutes, until a deep, golden-brown crust forms.
  6. Gently flip the sandwiches and cook for another 4–5 minutes on the other side, until the bread is equally golden and crispy, and the cheese is fully melted.
  7. Remove the sandwiches from the skillet, slice them in half diagonally, and serve immediately.

Notes

The most important tip is to cook on low to medium-low heat to ensure the bread toasts perfectly and the cheese melts without burning the garlic butter. Use a sturdy, thick bread like sourdough or Texas toast for the best structure. For a superior melt, shredding your own cheese is recommended over pre-shredded varieties.
