Baked Honey Lime Garlic Butter Salmon

Ingredients
  

  • 4 fillets salmon 6 ounces each, skin-on or skinless
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter melted
  • 3 tablespoons honey
  • 2 tablespoons fresh lime juice about 1 large lime
  • 1 teaspoon lime zest
  • 4 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley chopped, for garnish
  • lime wedges for serving

  • Small mixing bowl

  • Aluminum foil or parchment paper

Method
 

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F. Line a rimmed baking sheet with aluminum foil or parchment paper.
  2. Pat salmon fillets completely dry with paper towels and place on prepared baking sheet.
  3. In a small bowl, whisk together melted butter, honey, lime juice, lime zest, and minced garlic until well combined.
  4. Season salmon with salt and pepper on both sides, then pour honey lime garlic butter mixture evenly over each fillet.
  5. Bake for 15-18 minutes until salmon flakes easily with a fork. For caramelized top, broil for last 2-3 minutes, watching closely.
  6. Let rest 2-3 minutes, garnish with fresh parsley, and serve with lime wedges.

Notes

  • Use room temperature salmon for even cooking
  • Pat salmon very dry for best caramelization
  • Fresh lime juice makes a significant difference in flavor
  • Check salmon at 15 minutes to avoid overcooking
