Ingredients

  • 20 ounces fully cooked frozen meatballs
  • 1/2 cup hoisin sauce
  • 2 tablespoons low-sodium soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 tablespoon light brown sugar
  • 2 green onions thinly sliced
  • 1 tablespoon sesame seeds

Equipment

  • 6-quart slow cooker
  • Small mixing bowl
  • Whisk
  • Wooden spoon

Method

  1. Place the fully cooked frozen meatballs in a six-quart slow cooker.
  2. Whisk together the hoisin sauce, soy sauce, honey, rice vinegar, garlic powder, and brown sugar until smooth.
  3. Pour the sauce over the meatballs and gently stir until evenly coated.
  4. Cover and cook on high for 1 to 2 hours or on low for 2 to 4 hours, stirring once if convenient.
  5. Garnish with green onions and sesame seeds, then serve warm.

Notes

  • Use plain or homestyle meatballs so the sauce remains the dominant flavor.
  • Add sriracha or red pepper flakes for heat.
  • Refrigerate leftovers within two hours and reheat them on the stovetop or in the microwave.
